The Story Behind Cielos Fragmentados

Cielos Fragmentados is a journey through emotional deterioration. Unlike projects built around a single story, this EP explores what happens when a person's reality begins to fracture little by little. Not all at once. Not through one dramatic event. But through a gradual accumulation of thoughts, fears, doubts, obsessions, memories, and emotions that slowly begin to take control. The songs were intentionally arranged to increase in intensity as the EP progresses. What begins with softer atmospheres and moments of reflection gradually transforms into something darker, heavier, and more unsettling. Throughout the project, dreamlike melodies collide with anxiety, confusion, isolation, and emotional instability. The result is an experience that feels both beautiful and uncomfortable at the same time. As the songs unfold, reality becomes less reliable. Thoughts become louder. The cracks begin to spread. Musically, Cielos Fragmentados blends dream pop, dark synth pop, atmospheric electronic textures, pulsing bass lines, hypnotic rhythms, and emotionally charged vocal performances. The production moves between moments of vulnerability and moments of tension, creating a constant feeling that something is changing beneath the surface. One element that became increasingly important during the project was language itself. For the first time, I began mixing Spanish and German within the same creative universe, adding another layer of fragmentation and emotional distance to the songs. The contrast between soft melodies and darker themes became one of the defining characteristics of the EP.

One of the central songs on the project is Muros Blancos. Like much of Cielos Fragmentados, the song was written in a way that leaves room for interpretation. Some listeners may hear a story about anxiety. Others may hear mental exhaustion. Others may hear isolation, depression, paranoia, addiction, grief, or the slow collapse of reality itself. The song follows a character trapped inside an environment that feels increasingly hostile and inescapable. Cold lights, distorted voices, artificial noise, and endless white walls become symbols that can mean something different to every listener. Personally, I prefer not to define a single meaning. The most interesting interpretations are often the ones I never intended.

The cover artwork represents a hand reaching through a fractured sky. Cracks spread across the image like a broken mirror, separating what was once whole into scattered pieces. Whether those fragments represent memories, emotions, identity, reality, hope, or something else entirely is left for the listener to decide. Interestingly, this was one of the last album covers I created using ChatGPT.

Before arriving at the final version, I had originally designed a much darker and more unsettling concept inside Clip Studio Paint. However, because of time constraints and rendering limitations, I ultimately decided to develop the final artwork using AI tools. In the end, the result turned out better than I expected. But the cover hides something else. A message. A clue. Or perhaps simply an illusion. I won't reveal what it is. The real question is Have you discovered it yet?

More than any other release, Cielos Fragmentados invites interpretation. The songs do not provide clear answers. The artwork does not provide clear answers. Even the title itself raises questions. As with fractured glass, every listener may see a different reflection. And perhaps that is exactly the point.
