The Story Behind White Walls
White Walls is essentially the English-language counterpart to Muros Blancos from Cielos Fragmentados. The song was created with the same emotional energy and atmosphere that inspired the original version, but some lyrics and phrases were adapted to fit the rhythm, flow, and natural sound of English. Rather than being a direct translation, I preferred to reinterpret certain parts so the song could stand on its own. One of the ideas that influenced me while working on White Walls was imagining a more realistic version of Alice in Wonderland. Not the fantasy adventure most people know, but a character struggling to escape her own mind, trapped between reality, anxiety, confusion, and psychological distress. Like the original song, the meaning is open to interpretation. Some listeners may hear a story about mental health, others may hear isolation, fear, addiction, or the feeling of losing control over one's own reality. The answer depends on the listener.
The Artwork
The cover features Blitzy Goring, a recurring fictional character who appears throughout several Becker Bot Music releases. Although the song explores darker themes, I wanted the artwork to create a contrast between innocence and unease. The result feels almost familiar at first glance, yet something beneath the surface doesn't seem entirely right. That tension reflects the spirit of the song itself.
The Music Video
Around the time White Walls was released, I was also experimenting with AI-generated music videos. I came across a platform that allowed users to generate videos from prompts and ideas, so I decided to give it a try. I remember paying around $23 USD for the project and providing some creative direction, but once the AI took over, it largely did whatever it wanted. Honestly, the final result wasn't exactly what I had imagined But that's part of what made it fun The video became an unexpected collaboration between my ideas and the unpredictability of artificial intelligence. Sometimes the AI understood the assignment, and sometimes it went completely off script. Either way, it became part of the story behind White Walls. And looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.
