The Story Behind Passport Full

Sometimes a song takes on a life of its own.

After releasing "Pasaporte" on Groove Líquido, I felt the concept deserved a second version in English. The story, the attitude, and the message translated surprisingly well, so I decided to adapt it into "Passport Full" while preserving the spirit of the original track.

This time, however, I wanted the music to go in a slightly different direction. While the original leaned into indie pop and Italo disco influences, Passport Full moved closer to disco-funk and soul infused R&B, giving the song a smoother and more international feel.

The single also features something special: for the first time, the cover artwork includes AP herself. Since the song was inspired by her perspective, experiences, and personality, it felt natural to place her at the center of the visual identity as well.

Lyrically, the song tells the story of someone who has lived, traveled, met people from different cultures, and learned valuable lessons about relationships along the way. The famous line, "I got a passport full, but my heart stays selective," perfectly captures the heart of the song. It's not about collecting experiences or chasing attention it's about understanding your worth and being careful about who you allow into your life.

One thing I have learned throughout my music journey is that when a story connects with people in one language, sometimes it deserves the opportunity to travel further. Passport Full became exactly that: an English-language companion to Pasaporte, carrying the same message while discovering a new sound and a new audience.

At its core, this song is about confidence, self-respect, and knowing that no matter how many places you've been or how many people you've met, not everybody gets a seat in your heart.
