The Story Behind Le Bachatie

Le Bachatie originally started as one of the most playful and lighthearted songs I had ever written. The original version lived somewhere between humor, double meanings, and not taking itself too seriously. But over time, I felt there was another side of the song that deserved to exist. This single became that version.

Instead of leaning into the jokes, I decided to transform Le Bachatie into something more elegant, romantic, and sincere. The playful spirit remains hidden in its DNA, but this time the focus shifted toward attraction, admiration, and the electricity that can appear between two people on a dance floor. One of the biggest changes was the addition of French verses. Ever since I started learning small pieces of the language, I had wanted to experiment with combining French and bachata. The contrast felt fascinating: the warmth and rhythm of Latin music mixed with the softness and sophistication often associated with French expression.

The song tells a simple story that many dancers will probably recognize. You see someone across the room. You don't know their name. You don't know their story. But for a few minutes, none of that matters. The music starts, eye contact happens, and suddenly an entire conversation takes place without either person saying much at all.

Musically, I wanted the track to feel energetic and seductive without becoming overly dramatic. The vocals move quickly and rhythmically, almost dancing alongside the percussion, while the bachata groove keeps everything moving forward. Every line was written to follow the rhythm closely, creating the sensation of someone getting carried away by the music and by the person standing in front of them.

The title itself reflects that fusion. A little bachata, a little French influence, and a lot of dance floor energy.

More than anything, Le Bachatie celebrates the atmosphere of a bachata social. The inspiration came from nights spent dancing in Condesa, where the DJ keeps the music flowing, the dance floor stays alive for hours, and every song feels like the beginning of a new story. Some people come to dance, some come to forget, and others end up finding a connection they never expected.

Sometimes that's all a great night needs: good music, a crowded dance floor, and the courage to ask someone for the next dance.
