The Story Behind Eco de Luz
There are albums that are simply collections of songs And then there are albums that become chapters of your life. Eco de Luz belongs to the second category. To this day, it remains one of my favorite Becker Bot Music releases not only because of the music itself, but because of everything that was happening around it while these songs were being written. At its heart Eco de Luz is an album about hope About finding light in places where you thought there was none, About those people who arrive unexpectedly and somehow make the weight of the world feel a little lighter. The title itself reflects that idea. An echo of light. A small spark capable of illuminating even the darkest corners of our lives. Throughout the entire EP, you'll find recurring references to light, electricity, storms, thunder, energy, and the quiet power of bringing peace to a troubled heart. Sometimes those references are obvious. Sometimes they're hidden between the lines. But they're always there.
Musically, Eco de Luz became one of the most diverse projects in my catalog. The EP moves freely between dream pop, indie pop, and indie rock, blending atmospheric guitars, dreamy synthesizers, emotional melodies, and cinematic textures. Some songs feel intimate and fragile. Others feel expansive and uplifting. Some are meant to be listened to alone at night. Others feel like they belong on a festival stage with thousands of voices singing along. Yet despite their differences, all of them are connected by the same emotional thread: finding beauty, comfort, and hope in the middle of uncertainty.
This was also the project where Flordmar became deeply woven into the creative identity of the EP. Several songs were inspired by stories, emotions, and experiences she shared with me over time. Those moments became the spark, but the songs themselves were written through my own perspective, transforming real conversations, memories, and feelings into lyrics, melodies, and imagery. In many ways, Eco de Luz became a bridge between her experiences and my songwriting. What emerged was something neither of us could have created alone: her stories, my words, and the emotions we both carried finding their way into the music. Many listeners connected with the tracks performed by Flordmar because they felt personal, honest, and human. And that's exactly what I hoped they would be not perfect, not idealized, just real.
Have you ever met someone who unexpectedly became your light?
Someone whose presence gave you energy when you felt exhausted?
Someone who made difficult days easier simply by being there?
Eco de Luz was born from those questions. Because sometimes a person doesn't save us. They don't solve our problems, They don't change our lives overnight, But somehow they make the darkness feel less overwhelming And sometimes that's enough.
Without realizing it, this EP slowly became one of the most emotional projects I had ever created. Some songs were inspired by shared stories. Others were inspired by observations. And some came from feelings that are difficult to explain. The kind of feelings that quietly grow while you're busy writing music, The kind that transform admiration into inspiration and inspiration into songs.
I never wanted these tracks to tell just my story I wanted them to belong to whoever needed them. To the person trying to heal. To the person learning to love again. To the person waiting for a sign that things will get better. If any of these songs become a source of comfort, hope, or strength for someone else, then Eco de Luz has accomplished exactly what it was meant to do.
Over time, Eco de Luz became one of the most listened-to releases in the Becker Bot Music catalog. Some listeners connected with the dreamlike atmosphere. Others connected with the stories. Others simply found themselves returning to the melodies again and again. Whatever the reason, I am grateful. Because every stream, every listener, and every shared emotion helped turn this collection of songs into something bigger than I ever imagined. And if you've ever had someone become your light when everything seemed dark...
Maybe one of these songs is for them.
