The Story Behind Como El Parque

Como El Parque was my first official single released on streaming platforms, and unlike many love songs, this one wasn't inspired by my own story. The song was born during a couple of weeks when I found myself spending time in Parque Álamos, a park located in the southern part of Mexico City. I don't usually visit that park since I have another one much closer to home, but at the time I was taking my dogs to a training program in that neighborhood. I've always been a very observant person. I pay attention to details, expressions, conversations, and the small stories unfolding around me. During my breaks at the park, I started noticing two people. There was a young woman who seemed focused on her own activities, and there was a shy guy who clearly couldn't stop looking at her.

Every time she appeared, his attention shifted completely toward her. It was obvious he liked her, but he never seemed able to approach her. One day I finally walked over and told him: "You should talk to her. It's obvious you like her."

I've always been outgoing and enjoy meeting new people, so from my perspective the answer seemed simple. But he explained that he was nervous, unsure of what could happen, and afraid of making the wrong move. He also mentioned that modern dating sometimes feels complicated, making it even harder to take the first step. For nearly two weeks, the same scene kept repeating itself. They would notice each other. She would occasionally look his way. He would keep admiring her from a distance. Yet neither of them ever made a move. After getting to know him better, he gave me permission to turn the story into a song. That's how Como El Parque was born.

Later, I discovered something even more interesting. The girl he had been quietly admiring appeared frequently in ¡QueParió!, a popular Mexican comedy collective and YouTube channel. To him she was simply the beautiful stranger at the park, but she was actually someone many people already recognized online. As far as I know, he never spoke to her. that unanswered question became part of what makes this song special.

Musical Style

Musically, Como El Parque blends Spanish language pop rock and alternative influences with a warm, melodic, and approachable sound. Built around a smooth mid tempo groove, the song combines catchy melodies, emotional storytelling, and a sense of optimism that mirrors the atmosphere of a sunny afternoon walk through the park. The guitar driven arrangement creates a nostalgic feeling without becoming sad, while the vocal delivery captures the uncertainty, excitement, and curiosity that come with admiring someone from afar. Rather than focusing on heartbreak, the song celebrates the beauty of possibility the emotions that exist before anything actually happens. The flowing rhythm reflects the repetitive walks through Parque Álamos, while the melodies capture the silent connection between two people who notice each other but never quite find the courage to begin a conversation.

The inspiration behind the song came entirely from observing real life. No dramatic breakup, no personal romance, and no fictional storyline just a simple moment repeated day after day in a public park.

Watching two strangers repeatedly cross paths without ever speaking reminded me how many stories exist around us that never get told. Sometimes the most interesting songs come from paying attention.

Production Notes

At the time, I was still heavily experimenting with artificial intelligence tools and music production techniques. The song became part of a creative phase where I was exploring how technology could help bring everyday stories to life through music.

Inspired by the track, I also created a music video using Sora. I knew very little about cinematography at the time, but the final result turned out surprisingly well and became one of my earliest experiments combining music, storytelling, and AI generated visuals. The video is available on my YouTube channel under the same title as the song.

Looking back, Como El Parque represents an important milestone. It was my first official single, one of the earliest examples of the storytelling approach that would later define many Becker Bot Music releases, and proof that sometimes all it takes to write a song is paying attention to the world around you.
