The Story Behind Acércate Más

I'll be honest: I've never been the biggest reggaeton fan. But living in Latin America, it's impossible to ignore the impact this music has had on the world. Beyond the rhythms, reggaeton, dancehall, and Afrobeat have become part of the soundtrack of an entire generation. Whether people love it or hate it, the genre has earned a place on the global stage.

Acércate Más was my attempt to step into that world. As a result, it became one of the most sensual and playful releases I've created. The title track was inspired by a real moment during my bachata classes. One day I found myself almost face to face with a woman whose appearance immediately caught my attention. She had skin as white as snow, striking red hair that seemed to be on fire, and lips that looked almost unreal. Despite her beauty, she was incredibly introverted, which only made her more intriguing. That brief encounter eventually became Acércate Más. The song isn't about a relationship. It's about that moment of attraction before anything happens the curiosity, the mystery, and the feeling of wanting to know someone who remains just out of reach.

Another important track on the EP is Ya No Te Siento. Like several Becker Bot Music songs, it was inspired by a story shared with me by someone else. The song centers around a woman who had been dating one of the people I once considered a close friend. For reasons I won't fully explain, that person eventually disappeared from both of our lives.

I still remember something she told me "It's funny in a bittersweet way. We're grieving the same person." That sentence stayed with me. Even though our experiences were different, we found ourselves dealing with the same absence, the same unanswered questions, and the same sense of loss. Sometimes the most unexpected stories come from listening.

Like many Becker Bot Music releases, Acércate Más includes references to real places, conversations, and experiences. Most of these stories take place in Mexico City, a place that continues to inspire much of my music. Whenever I draw from someone else's experiences, I do so with their permission, allowing real moments and real emotions to find a second life through music. Some details change. Some remain exactly as they happened. But the emotions are always real.

Musically, Acércate Más combines reggaeton foundations with elements of dancehall, Afrobeat, and Latin urban music. The goal wasn't to imitate trends, but to explore the energy, rhythm, and emotional possibilities that these styles offer. The result is a collection of songs that move between attraction, desire, heartbreak, nostalgia, and personal stories, all wrapped in infectious grooves and melodic hooks.

Whether you're dancing, remembering someone, or simply enjoying the rhythm, this EP was designed to bring people a little closer. Just like its title suggests.
